Es setzt mindestens Prozessoren der Baureihe 486 voraus.
Erstmalig ist Outlook Bestandteil der Office-Suite (Outlook 97 bzw. Outlook 98 ab Mitte 1998).

Office 97 Standard enthält Word, Excel, Powerpoint und Outlook jeweils in der Version 97.
